As we come upon the end of what seemed like a very short summer, we also celebrate the 2-Year Anniversary of our office opening. We have been fortunate the last couple years to have the support and internal referrals from our patients, wonderful pediatricians, and dental colleagues. Thank you all sincerely for your support.
2007 has been an exciting year for our practice, as well as for me personally. At the beginning of the year, my husband, Rob and I, found out we would be expecting our first child after 5 wonderful years of marriage. Our son will be due September 24, 2007, and as a result, I will be taking approximately 6 weeks off in September and October, and will be back in the office the beginning of November 2007. While on maternity leave, I am happy and fortunate to have Dr. Maryam Pearose fill in and provide continued quality care of my patients. Dr. Pearose received her dental degree from UCSF, and went on to complete her advanced pediatric dental training at Children's Hospital of Buffalo Pediatric Dental Program in New York. She has served as a clinical instructor for the University of Buffalo and has been in private practice since 2005. We are fortunate to have Dr. Pearose maintain the continuity and quality of care for our patients during my short absence.
Aside from the exciting baby news, in April 2007, I successfully completed the oral exam portion of the Board Certification process and became a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
This year I have also been giving back to my Pediatric Residency Program at USC by becoming a part-time Clinical Faculty Member. I have been teaching one day a week as an Attending for the USC Pediatric Dental Residency Program at the Healthy Smiles Clinic in Garden Grove, where 2 USC Residents are assigned.
